Summary

This paper briefly discusses the agronomic requirements of onion-mint (Mentha arvensis, M. piperita, M. spicata and M. citrata [M. piperita var. citrata]) intercropping systems in India (mainly in semi-temperate regions of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Bihar). Optimum cultivation conditions in terms of climate and soil type, field preparation, sowing rate and seed treatment, planting date and method, fertilizer application, irrigation, weed control (cultural and chemical methods) and harvesting are presented.
