Mobile Innovation Lab

K-State Libraries is launching a mobile innovation lab to deliver hands-on, STEM-focused learning experiences directly to middle and high school students in Kansas.

What is it?

A towable STEM resource trailer equipped with innovative technology and programming designed to inspire curiosity, spark innovation and support digital equity across Kansas.

Students will have the opportunity to learn and create with:

  • 3D design and printing.
  • Virtual reality learning and adventures.
  • Podcasting and audio storytelling.
  • Robotics and circuit building.
  • Greenscreen recording.
  • Satellite communications.
  • Vinyl cutting and creative fabric projects.

 

Why it matters

  • Inspires creativity: Students are given the opportunity to test new ideas, push boundaries and fail forward.
  • Enhances digital equity: Rural and underserved schools receive access to advanced technology and STEM resources.
  • Fosters workforce readiness: Sparks interest in STEM fields and helps build a skilled, future-ready workforce.
  • Supports K-State’s mission: Advances K-State’s land-grant commitment and strengthens partnerships across the state.
