Dead week and finals week 2021
Hale Library will have extended hours during dead week and finals week. The building will be open until 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday both weeks.
The entire 4th floor and the Great Room on the 3rd floor of Hale Library will remain designated quiet zones.
De-stress activities and events
Throughout both weeks the Libraries will host Random Acts of Snacks to provide treats and sympathy to students studying in Hale Library. There will also be jigsaw puzzles spread throughout the building, and a Relaxation Station on the 2nd floor will include de-stressing activities.
At 7 p.m. on Dec. 8, 9, 12, 13 and 14, students can enjoy free coffee, tea, hot cocoa, cider, fruit and snacks while supplies last on the first floor of Hale Library.
Escape from Finals in the Sunderland Foundation Innovation Lab
Visit the Innovation Lab for a study break with activities such as making your own stress balls, puzzles and play-doh. Students can also fill out a postcard for family or friends and the Libraries will mail it for you! The Innovation Lab is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additional activities in the Innovation Lab include:
Finals Week Photo Booth
Remember your finals week in Hale Library by participating in a photo booth on the 2nd floor of the Innovation Lab.

Shake Away Your Stress for Faculty and Staff
On the 2nd floor of the Innovation Lab on Dec. 7 and 14 from 10 a.m. to noon, faculty and staff will have the chance to create their own 3D-printed maracas! Grab a shell, chock it full of fillings and shake away the stress!
These activities would not be possible without additional support from sponsors including our lead sponsor, Joyce and Joe's Cornerstone Cafe.
