About Joe:
As a first-generation college graduate, Joe brings more than two decades of leadership experience in libraries and higher education, serving in senior administrative and strategic roles. His work has included managing multimillion-dollar budgets and grants, overseeing major facilities projects, supervising tenured/tenure-track faculty and staff, advocating for services and resources, and championing innovation across digital scholarship, data services, AI literacy, effective data practices, and fundraising multimillion donations that advance institutional missions and drive innovation.
A former Fulbright Scholar, Joe is deeply committed to social justice, community engagement, internationalization and lifelong learning. To advance his skills in strategy and change management, he has completed advanced leadership trainings at Harvard and Vanderbilt.
His leadership philosophy is grounded in service, humility, and trust — leading without ego and fostering collaboration through respect rather than authority. He strives to inspire and empower others to live purposeful, impactful lives while contributing meaningfully to society and cultivating curiosity.
