Collections

The Morse Department of Special Collections supports the teaching, learning and academic research community with access to more than a million items in the collection which range from archival records, manuscripts, rare books, photographs, recordings and ephemera.

University archives and history

The university archives is responsible for preserving and making available documentation of the history of Kansas State University, including institutional records, student and university-affiliated organizations, student life and culture, and faculty contributions.

Cookery

Our cookery collection is the largest collection of its kind available at a public university. This collection includes more than 38,000 volumes related to cookery dating from 1487 to the present, as well as hundreds of manuscript cookbooks representing nearly every country or region.

Kansas life and culture

The Kansas life and culture collection highlights Kansas history, agriculture, rural life and westward expansion. The collection includes more than 5,000 boxes of archival and printed material dating from 1835 to the present.

Consumer movement

The consumer movement archives preserves and documents the history of the consumer movement in the United States. The consumer movement consists of individuals and organizations that advocate for the rights and welfare of consumers, especially when those rights are violated by corporations and governments.

Digital archives

K-State Libraries' digital collections enables the preservation of important historical documents while providing online access to the wealth of knowledge they hold. These valuable resources range from books and primary records to photographs and other visual aids.

Rare books

The Morse Department of Special Collections houses thousands of rare, important, interesting and historically significant books. The rare books collection includes items dating from 1486 through the present day.

The Saint John's Bible

The Saint John's Bible is the first handwritten, hand-illuminate Bible produced in more than 500 years. The Morse Department of Special Collections is honored to have a Heritage Edition of The Saint John's Bible. Our docent program allows us the privilege to bring this work of art into communities across the state.
