Course Reserves
Course Reserves
K-State instructors can put materials and textbooks on Course Reserves at several of our library locations. Students can then easily access those materials for free from a library help desk for a shortened loan period.
There are two ways instructors can have items added to Course Reserves. You can request that items from the Libraries collection be added or you can provide the library with a personal copy of an item. Personal materials can be returned to you once you opt to have them removed from Course Reserves.
Requesting streaming videos
In addition to videos you may find in Search It, you can request films through the Libraries including popular and documentary films to show in your class. We will contact you once we have obtained the viewing rights and instructions on how to view the movie.
Borrowing Course Reserves
A K-State ID is required to check out materials from Course Reserves, and only two reserves items may be checked out at a time. Course Reserves items cannot be renewed.
Returning Course Reserves
Course Reserves items must be returned to the same library help desk from which they were borrowed. They should not be returned to book drops. Course Reserves materials returned to book drops are not counted as returned until the following day.
Fines
In order to ensure the greatest number of students have access to Course Reserves items, due dates and times are strictly enforced. When the library is closed, fines will continue to accumulate until the library re-opens.
Patrons with overdue or lost Course Reserves items will be unable to check out new materials again until their overdue or lost items are returned.
Fines for overdue Course Reserve items:
- $2 per hour overdue for 2-hour and 4-hour loans
- $10 per day for all other loans
