Collaboration technology

Hale Library offers collaborative technology, such as digital monitors and mobile smart boards, to help with group projects and presentations.

Digital monitors

Digital monitors are located on the first and third floors. Many are located in the collaboration rooms (which can be reserved) and others are only available on a first-come, first-served basis. HDMI cables are provided at each monitor, and adapters can be checked out from the welcome desk on the first floor.

Having issues?
The monitors are configured to automatically display your laptop screen when it's connected. If you are having trouble, follow these steps:

  1. Unplug the HDMI cable from your laptop and wait a few seconds before plugging it back in.
  2. Check to see if you are using the correct adapter for your laptop and if it is plugged into the right port.
  3. Restart your computer with the HDMI cable unplugged and retry after the reboot.
  4. Check to see if your computer needs any updates. If you need assistance with this, please visit the IT Help Desk on the second floor.
  5. If none of the above steps resolve your issue, please visit the Library Help Desk on the second floor and someone can assist you.

Hub moniters

There are 27 hub monitor stations located on the second floor of Hale Library, near the IT Help Desk.

With a hub monitor and the provided USB Type-C cable, you can easily connect a device to a single screen, allowing you to multitask more effectively and increase your overall productivity. The monitors work with both Windows and Mac operating systems. They also will charge your connected device while you work.

Smart boards

There are four mobile Samsung Flip smart boards in Hale Library. The boards are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The interactive, touchscreen digital display is ideal for group collaboration, and work can be saved at any time. The screen can also display content from a laptop device.
